Norwegian Cruise Line News

An agreement for Star Cruises to sell the Norwegian Dream to Louis Group lapsed on Sept. 29. Star Cruises announced in Hong Kong that it called off the $218 million sale and is seeking legal recourse, Reuters reported on Sept. 30. Louis announced it cancelled the sale “due to technical issues relating to the vessel.” Louis did conclude the purchase of the Norwegian Majesty, which was chartered back to Star until Dec. 1, 2009. Louis will continue implementing its fleet renewal program, with the pursuit of alternative solutions. Star shares 50-50 ownership of NCL Corp. with Apollo Management.
